Client stories
What finance teams noticed during financial audits of their e-wallet applications — including the parts that felt slow.
Notes from the field
“The float review caught a partner hold that our daily pack treated as cleared. We had to rewrite the board footnote for that month. Useful, if not pleasant.”
Head of Finance, ASEAN remittance wallet
“Sampling on fee waivers was thorough. I wished we had prepared the rate-card archive earlier — we lost three days hunting version history.”
Revenue accountant, Bangkok e-money issuer
“Their closing meeting stayed on the exception list instead of wandering into product roadmap talk. That focus helped our internal audit team reuse the schedules.”
Internal audit manager, merchant-wallet operator
“We asked for a full financial audit of the consumer wallet before a bank partnership. Findings were measured. One mild reservation: remote file transfer rules at our end slowed kickoff more than their team did.”
COO, Thai prepaid wallet brand
Extended story: promotion credits after Songkran
A consumer wallet ran a Songkran cashback campaign that credited wallets instantly while the marketing cost centre posted weekly. By mid-May, float looked short against customer liabilities. Our e-wallet financial audit sampled campaign IDs, tied credits to the approved rate sheet, and identified a batch that never reached the float sub-ledger.
Finance posted a correcting journal and tightened the campaign close checklist. The partnership bank accepted the revised pack on the second submission. The client later booked a float & reconciliation review for the following quarter rather than another full audit.
Extended story: merchant settlement cutover
After switching settlement processors, a merchant wallet saw MDR revenue post on time while payout files lagged by a day. The fee & settlement posting check traced forty samples and documented the accrual bridge that was missing. Operations kept the new processor; accounting added a T+1 accrual until the processor’s file timing stabilised.
